Audi RS Q8 Facelift: Overview, Features, and Performance

The Audi RS Q8 Facelift launches in India with design updates, performance-focused interior, and a powerful 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine producing 640 hp.

The Audi RS Q8 Facelift has been launched in the Indian market as an updated version of the performance SUV. The starting price is Rs 2.49 crore (ex-showroom). This model brings cosmetic revisions both inside and out. The vehicle was launched globally with changes in its powertrain. It previously held the title of the fastest SUV on the Nurburgring, surpassing the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe by 2 seconds.

Design

The Audi RS Q8 Performance maintains a similar appearance to its predecessors. It looks more aggressive than the standard version. This is due to the front fascia, which includes a single-frame honeycomb grille with octagonal elements, matrix LED lights, and Audi laser light. The SUV also features 23-inch RS wheels, which are five-spoke forged wheels with a grey finish.

Interior and Features

The interior of the SUV has a performance-oriented theme. The cabin layout includes an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel, gear knob, and door panels. There are two large screens for the infotainment system and the driver’s display, enhanced by gloss black detailing. The vehicle includes wireless charging, four-zone climate control, connected car tech, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof.

Powertrain and Performance

The Audi RS Q8 Facelift is powered by a 4.0-litre bi-turbo charged V8 engine, producing 640 hp of power and 850 Nm of peak torque. This is the most powerful engine on an RS vehicle. The power is transferred to the wheels using an 8-speed transmission. The SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 3.6 seconds, with a top speed limited to 305 kmph.

Market Context

According to Audi India head Balbir Dhillon, the luxury car market in India is growing. The company anticipates better sales performance this year after launching the refreshed RS Q8. Luxury car sales are expected to reach 55,000 units.
